Privacy Policy
We at the Food Sensitivity Kitchen, (“Company,” “we,” or “us”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Policy is designed to help you understand what information we collect about you, and what choices you have about this information.

What data we collect and why we collect it
When interacting with our Website and services, we may collect two types of information from you: personal and non-personal information.

Personal Information

  • This Site collects the personal information you voluntarily provide to us, which includes your name and e-mail address, in order to subscribe to our newsletter, comment on our blog, participate in contests, or similar services and promotions.  If you opt-in to receive our newsletter, the option to unsubscribe will be included in every e-mail.
  • If you purchase a product, your payment information will be processed by a trusted third party vendor (Amazon, PayPal, or similar).  We do not store this payment information on our site or in our files.
  • If you choose to send us emails, any personal information you disclose will also be stored on our email server.

Non-Personal Information
Examples of non-personal information include IP address, type of device Website was accessed on, city the website was accessed from, the type of browser used, the way you navigated our Website, and the content you viewed or interacted with. Non-personal information is only analyzed in an aggregate manner, and cannot be linked to any one individual. Non-personal information has no personal identifiers linked to it and is completely anonymous.

  • This site may also collect aggregate demographic information through Google Analytics, such as gender, age, and preferences/interests.  This analytical data is not personally identified to you in any way.  We use this information to provide you with relevant content and we use aggregated data from Google Analytics to provide demographic info on our site.

What We Do With the Information We Collect

  • We may use the information to advertise products or services, or to keep you up to date on recent posts, via our email list.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services, or gather ideas for content.
  • We may record information relating to your use of the Site in order to help administer the Site and personalize your experience by improving customer service.
  • We may use aggregate demographic information to share with third parties for third-party advertisers who wish to advertise on our Website. This information helps advertisers understand our market reach, and can in no way be traced back to you individually. It also helps us improve our Website and continue to create content and offers that we believe you will enjoy.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the Website, data is collected in the comments form. The visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string is also collected to help detect and block spam. Please be aware that any personal information posted in a public area of the site, such as the comment section, can be accessed freely by others, and foodsensitivitykitchen.com is not responsible for how third parties may access or use that information.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies and Pixels
This Website uses cookies, small files which are placed on your computer’s hard drive after you give permission, and helps us analyze our web traffic and pages visited by our users. This allows websites and companies to provide you with custom information that best meets your needs and interests.

We use traffic log cookies in conjunction with Google Analytics to identify which pages are being visited on our Website. This helps us analyze data about what pages and post are most and least popular, so that we can create more of the content our readers really want. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes.

A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of our Website.

This Website also uses Facebook pixels to understand who has visited our site, allow us to present relevant ads to those people on Facebook at a later date, and to track who saw our Facebook ads and then visited our site afterwards. This helps us understand which types of ads are connecting with people, and which ones aren’t, so we can improve our marketing efforts. We reserve the right to implement pixels from other social platforms in the future, as they become available.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with
Our email providers, ConvertKit as well as our payment processor, and PayPal if you purchase a service.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you submit an email address to sign up for our email newsletter, this will also be retained indefinitely, or until either you unsubscribe or we decide to discontinue our email newsletter.

Aggregate analytics data is kept for 50 months.  Customer purchase records are kept for 10 years.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your personal information against theft, loss, and unauthorized access, including the use of an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) security certificate, using a plugin to limit incorrect logins, and only working with reputable third party companies. Although we always do our best, no system is 100% secure, and therefore, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information and cannot assume liability for improper access to it.

What data breach procedures we have in place
If a data breach ever occurs, we will notify you via email as soon as possible, including what information may have been compromised, how we corrected the breach, and how to protect yourself moving forward.

What third parties we receive data from
If you make a purchase through any of the programs we are affiliates for, we will receive an email notification of the sale, which may include personal information about you, such as your name or email address. We keep this information private and will not share it with anyone.

Children under the age of 13
This Website is not designed for children under the age of 13, and anyone under the age of 13 may not create an account or provide any information on this Website. We do not intentionally collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are reading this and are under the age of 13, you must not use or provide any information on this website, including signing up for information, making purchases, or leaving comments.

If we ever collect or receive information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of their parents, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe that we have collected information from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at [email protected]

Changes to this Statement
Food Sensitivity Kitchen has the discretion to occasionally change this privacy statement at any time without notice. When we do, we will also revise the “updated” date at the top of this Privacy page; such changes shall then be effective immediately. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. Your continued use of the service constitutes your agreement to this privacy statement and any updates.
